In this blog post, we share how our customers honored their father's legacy and embraced their family history by finding a unique way to decorate their new baby's nursery. By framing a collection of memories from their father, they not only created a beautiful display but also instilled a sense of heritage within their home - honoring the life of their new baby’s late grandfather.

“With our first child on the way, we wanted to decorate his nursery with pieces that were unique, meaningful, and would help him appreciate the men who've shaped our family. This idea led us to frame items owned by his paternal grandfather, who passed in 2020.”

These words are from one of our customers at Thompson’s Frame & Gallery, who’s father's life and military service was a cherished part of his family's legacy. As our customers were preparing to welcome their son into the world, they brought in an amazing collection of photos from different seasons of their dad’s life, including a few powerfully capturing his service in the U.S. Army. They also brought in a handwritten note - a priceless memory, and one of his military jackets, worn while he served. These pieces were worthy of being protected and transformed into timeless statements, rather than tucked away in a box.

“All the photos are of his grandfather or were taken by him while serving in the U.S. Army. These will help our son learn how his grandfather looked and see some of what he experienced during his life. His grandfather's U.S. Army jacket is a physical keepsake featuring our family's last name that will make our son proud of his family and the men who came before him.”

What an amazing way to honor someone’s legacy! Our customers worked closely with our expert staff to design a custom framing arrangement that showcased the military pieces beautifully and also complemented the nursery's theme and colors. We utilized high-quality materials and techniques to ensure the preservation and protection of these cherished memories. With precision and care, each piece was carefully mounted, and the arrangement was designed to create a visually striking display. For this project, our customer picked an amazing array of linen mats, gold and wood toned frames, and opted for museum glass for the utmost visible clarity. The result was this series of framed compositions that not only celebrated the father's military service but also became captivating displayed heirlooms.
